whole family were along - especially father. I know he would have enjoyed it so much. The last day out we paddled up Trout River. It was raining & pretty cold. I just had on a quarter sleeve & no raincoat but it was fun & very refreshing to stick out my chin & pull ahead. Now & then a duck would get up out of the wild rice along the banks; and every so often a large blue heron would lazily & ponderously flap along ahead of us. As we proceeded up stream the river ran faster & faster. Finally we had to get out & pull our canoe against the shallow rushing water for a mile where it opened into Trout Lake. Many times as
