Dear Mayor Rainey:

This is a follow up to our October 2, 1974 meeting on the location of U. S. 61 through Fort Madison, During the meeting, we had promised to correspond with you in ten days.

Mr. Frazier's current schedule requires his travel away from Washington, part of the time out of the country, until late in October. In the meantime, we have received your October 9, 1974 letter which includes a number of requests. In response to one request, enclosed is a copy of the typewritten list of meeting attendees.

In light of our interest in the need for local dialogue, we would appreciate hearing from you on the results of any meetings you may have had with Miss Harper and other minority group representatives on the U. S. 61 matter.

We anticipate that Mr. Frazier will be able to respond by the first of November.
